Our Commitment to the Community

At RFS Energy, we're proud to give back to the places we call home. Each year, we're committed to supporting initiatives that provide essential resources and foster inclusive environments for those who need them most.

Our Financial Commitment

A percentage of the revenue made at RFS Energy each year is put back into the community we live and work in through an organization doing impactful work. Check out our past donations below!

These are the incredible organizations we donated to this year:

  • Tea Creek - Indigenous-led, culturally safe, land-based Indigenous food sovereignty and trades training initiative. Our Mission is to revitalize the culture of economic interdependence and food production that was a central part of life for Indigenous peoples throughout the Americas. (British Columbia)

  • Chestermere Women’s Crisis Society - Community-based non-profit society, organized to collaborate and liaise with existing resources to provide counselling services, legal resources, and clothing and food security to vulnerable women in the community who may be experiencing domestic abuse or require assistance with providing basic needs for themselves and their children. (Alberta)

  • Ka Ni Kanichihk - Offers a number of Indigenous-led prevention and intervention programs that help children, youth, women, men, and families heal, succeed, and become leaders. Ka Ni Kanichihk provides education and job-skills training, support for women and families, and mentorship. They walk with people on their path of recovery from trauma. (Manitoba)

  • Bryony House - provides emergency support and services to women and children experiencing intimate partner violence. (Nova Scotia)

Our Time Commitment

While we're just getting started, our team is excited to dedicate their time to volunteering and supporting initiatives that align with our values. We're looking forward to turning this commitment into action, making a positive impact in our communities beyond our work.

Bringing people together to propel planning, research and climate change policy into the marketplace

As a virtual team that lives and works across these lands also known as Canada, RFS Energy acknowledges the traditional territories of the many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples that have called these lands home since time immemorial. We recognize and honour our treaty relationships and our responsibilities to the land, history and customs of Indigenous peoples with whom we share these lands.

We encourage readers to learn about the Indigenous history of where they live and work and to reflect on their own relationship with the land and what meaningful actions they can take towards reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
